Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Planning Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in developing and implementing comprehensive project plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, change management, and risk mitigation strategies, for complex construction projects within our engineering consultancy firm.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate, participate, and work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment and timely communication of schedule updates and timelines.
- Create detailed project schedules (baseline and updates) from initiation to completion, including resource allocation, task sequencing, and identification of critical paths.
- Monitor project progress against established schedules, proactively identify potential delays and issues, implement corrective actions, and develop mitigation plans to minimize project disruptions.
- Conduct detailed delay analysis using established methodologies (e.g., Windows Analysis, Time Impact Analysis, As-Planned vs. As-Built Analysis) to determine the root causes of delays and assess their impact on the project completion date.
- Prepare and assess Extension of Time requests and claims, ensuring accurate and well-supported documentation to justify any time and cost adjustments.
- Analyze project data and provide regular reports on project status, including milestones, budget, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulations, and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project planning and execution processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 15+ or more years of proven experience as a Planning Engineer or a similar role, preferably within an engineering consultancy. Experience in hospitality projects is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Certification in project management (PMP) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Willingness to relocate, if required.
- Must have a valid SCE Membership.
- Must have a valid IQAMA (if non-saudi).
