Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of contract administration, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders for a portfolio of complex engineering projects within Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the negotiation of contract terms and conditions, draft and review complex contractual documents, and provide expert guidance during the tendering/bidding process.
- Manage all aspects of contracts (FIDIC, NEC, Governmental, Bespoke), including claims preparation and defense, variations management, dispute resolution, and project closeout.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Effectively communicate complex contractual matters.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams on contract-related matters, including interpretation of contract terms and conditions.
- Review and analyze NDAs, MOUs, and other legal agreements, providing summaries and recommendations to company management.
- Stay abreast of all new decrees, laws, and regulations issued by relevant authorities pertaining to the company scope of services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification in Contract Management is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract administration and management within the consultancy industry, including experience with consultancy contracts.
- Extensive experience with FIDIC, NEC, KSA Governmental Contracts, and Bespoke agreements in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf region. Must be familiar with different contract types, including unit rate and lump sum contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of Saudi Government Tenders and Procurement Law.
- Proven ability to manage EOT claims, conduct claims assessment, and draft change management documentation.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
