Sustainability Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sustainability Engineer to develop and implement strategies that align with environmental, social, and economic sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainability principles, project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. The position is aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, emphasizing sustainable development, climate change mitigation, and resource efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and Implementing Sustainability Strategies.
• Vision 2030 Alignment: Ensuring projects and operations align with the sustainability goals outlined in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
• Creating and implementing sustainability strategies for organizations and projects, considering environmental, social, and economic factors.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, communities, and investors, to promote sustainability initiatives.
• Environmental Impact Assessment and Mitigation.
• Resource Management and Efficiency.
• Developing and implementing water conservation strategies, especially in a water-scarce region like KSA.
• Promoting energy efficiency measures in buildings, industries, and infrastructure.
• Implementing waste reduction, recycling, and reuse programs.
• Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.
• Developing strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint.
• Promoting the use of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power.
• Assessing climate change vulnerabilities and developing adaptation strategies.
• Applying for and achieving green building certifications such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
• Integrating sustainable design principles in buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Promoting the use of sustainable and locally sourced building materials.
• Preparing sustainability reports to track progress, measure impact, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collecting and analyzing data related to environmental performance, social impact, and economic sustainability.
• Raising awareness about sustainability issues and providing education and training to employees and communities.
• Well aware of local and international regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing sustainability initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of environmental impact assessment, resource management, and climate change strategies.
• Familiarity with green building certifications (e.g., LEED) and sustainable design principles.
• Proficient in data collection, analysis, and reporting on sustainability metrics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• 8+ years of experience in developing and managing sustainability programs or initiatives.
• Must be SCE Certified (Professional or Consultant).
• Must have a Valid and Transferable Iqama (if non-Saudi).
