Overview
Hejaz Gate, located near the Haramain Rail Station, serves as the main entrance to the King Abdullah Economic City. The gate’s design is very contemporary reflecting King Abdullah Economic City’s progressive ideology of taking Saudi Arabia into the 21st Century streamlined with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Project included a contemporary canopy, 6 security booths, 2 administrative / support buildings along with site wide infrastructure development.
The construction of the gate posed several challenges from rust-protection of the massive steel canopy to the complex fabrication of the security booths as well as the cladding systems required for the service buildings. The project also included development of MEP infrastructure as well as equipping the gate with advanced technology including remote connections with City’s HQ, automatic access control systems and monitoring networks, resulting in the Project being awarded the best security public assembly project by Intersec in 2018.
